Training Event: Recreation of Harvey’s Casino Bombing

Last August, Tactical Electronics Training Division was contracted by a government client to create a training scenario replicating the infamous 1980 bombing of the Harveys Casino and Resort, on location at the original bombing site near South Lake Tahoe, NV.
We revealed our replicas of the Harvey’s Casino device to 4 teams of operators on the 41st Anniversary of the bombing. Also in attendance, as special guest speakers, were two of the Technicians who were on the scene for the original event. Pictured with members of TE’s Training Division, Tahoe Douglas Bomb Squad Captain (ret) Frank “Danny” Danihel and FBI Special Agent (ret) Bill Jonkey were visibly taken aback when they first saw the replicas. Danny asked if he could touch it, and when he laid his hands on it, it was clear to see he was taken back in time 41 years.
