Tactical Electronics to pay £1 per Tweet to raise funds for Paws Up UK on June 6th
BROKEN ARROW, June 3, 2013 — Tactical Electronics will host a Tweet-a-Thon on Thursday, June 6, 2013 to raise funds for United Kingdom charity, Paws Up.
Paws Up, created by Durham Police Dog Support Unit, raises funds to support retired police dogs. “Historically, there has been no provision to assist with the day to day costs of looking after the animals as they put their ‘paws up, it is the responsibility of the handler or new owner to cover general costs and often considerable vets bills etc,” Paws Up organizers said.
Paws Up’s goal is to establish the benevolent fund to assist with initial expenses such as, pet insurance, food, toys, bedding, and veterinary services. “Our police dogs provide a tremendous service to our communities for the best part of their working lives and we want to provide the best possible life for their retirement,” stated on Paws Up website.
Tactical Electronics will donate £1 for every tweet that utilizes the hash tag #PawsUpUk on June 6th, up to 1,000 tweets. “We hope to drive awareness and encourage other partners to donate to the Paws Up organization,” Addie Ventris, Tactical Electronics Marketing Manager, said. Tactical Electronics Twitter account, @TE_99, will begin posting tweets Thursday, June 6th with information about the fund and photos of Durham Police dogs.
